Model : Dell Latitude E6410
Board id : NCL00 LA-5471P

When press power key, power comsumption on DC Supply is about 1.2 amp, CPU Fan spin for a while and then stop. Only show Caps Lock blinking. I already try to change RAM card and flashing bios. But problem still exit. Need help.

Voltages to ground on coils are
PL5 - 5V
PL6 - 3.3V
PL7 - 1.0V
PL8 - 1.5V
PL11 - 1.0V
PL12 - 1.0V
PL13 - 1.0V
PL18 - 1.0V
PL401 - 1.8V
PL801 - 0.8V

Hello!

- Measure the power consumption (in mA) of the board, when the machine is turned on without RAM memory connected.
- Are there any changes in operation of the machine without RAM memory?

The power consumption (in mA) of the board is the same. There is nothing changes with or without RAM memory. I've tested about 40 RAM Sticks and laptop runs perfectly with only one 2G RAM stick. With all other RAM sticks, laptop can't run. What is that problem?

- Does the machine works if you insert this RAM stick in any of two RAM slots?
- How about if you insert this working RAM stick in one slot and different RAM stick in another slot? Does the machine works in this case and detects the capacity of both RAMs?

Laptop only works this RAM stick with RAM Slot 1. With RAM Slot 2, it doesn't work.
When insert both (working RAM Stick with working slot and others RAM stick with other slot), laptop can't work.

It is quite old machine. That was times, when new ram memory and processor was added ine new BIOS updates in some vendors machines.
Try with this 1 stick update to nevest, and then test behavior with other sticks.

I would tell slot 2 could have loose legs (some could unsolder) but slot 1 behavior is strange..
