Hi,
I am puzzeling why my PS5 Slim with EDM-044 board has this issue.

I checked the liquid metal : ok
I checked the tracks between HDMI encoder and hdmi connector : ok
I could not find (yet) a failing capacitor or diode.

This is what happens when:
I press the on-switch shortly, the blue light turns on and starts cycling until it is permanent blue
The monitor shows the normal PS5 menu, I can operate the controller to scroll and move in the menu.
Then suddenly the image freezes and a light buzz noise comes from the monitorspeakers
The PS5 led is changed from blue to white.

I can repeat this procedure easily with the same effect.

What can cause this unwanted PS5 behaviour?

It should be solid white at the end of cycling, not blue. So it seems that the console did not complete the full booting. First of all, make sure that the logic board does not have any burnt components. Please post a clear, high resolution photos of both sides of the logic board so we can see if there are any visible problems.

I have to correct my initial description of the failure mode.
The PS5 Slim EDM-44 shows a solid white light and boots normally, I can see the screen and use the controller, however...the screen freezes after 10 to 15 seconds, the HDMI stops working...

If there is no visible damage on the board etc I would also do a full System Restore in Recovery meny using an USB stick and a file from Sony site: https://www.playstation.com/pl-pl/suppo ... re/#latest
