NTFS - odzyskiwanie po formatowaniu

Szukam podpowiedzi w temacie odzyskiwania danych po formatowaniu w NTFS. Nie chodzi mi o samo wykopiowanie danych bo to nie jest wielkim problemem, a o przywrócenie poprzedniej struktury katalogów i plików.
Nie szukam programu typu kliknij&napraw, chociaż taki też z chęcią bym potestował, a raczej informacji tak aby zrozumieć temat.

Studiowałem te linki, jak i ten, jednak nie jest do końca dla mnie zrozumiały, chodzi o odbudowanie atrybutów $MTF. Widocznie muszę bardziej się w to zagłębić.
A czy jest jakieś oprogramowanie, które radzi sobie w takich przypadkach?
