 [REŠENO] Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14ITL05 (NM-D461) - Battery Charging Problem

Datoteka ne sme vsebovati vidnih žigov "zaupno",, e-poštnih naslovov ipd.
  5. V eni temi lahko opišete SAMO eno napravo. Za vsako drugo okvarjeno napravo morate odpreti novo temo.
  6. Zahteve za sheme, boardview, fotografije matičnih plošč, datoteke BIOS-a ali servisne priročnike za storitve NISO DOVOLJENE. Če želite vprašati za katero koli od teh, odprite novo temo v podforumu ZAHTEVA ZA DOKUMENTACIJO & DATOTEKO BIOS/EFI.

Hi

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14ITL05 that has suffered liquid damage, when I received the laptop it was able to power on ok but it wouldn’t charge the battery.

There were ares of liquid across the board which I have cleaned and I have replaced the charging IC PU100 (BQ780S) and the 3 mosfets PQ102, P103 and PQ104 involved in battery section.

Upon further inspection a resistor on the SMB_EC clock line from battery connector to EC was damaged so I replaced this and the battery started to take a charge, however it will only charge for around 5mins then it will stop, also there is no orange charging indicator on the laptop.

I have installed Windows on the laptop and when powered on it does not show the charging icon in the system tray, but the battery is still charging due to the current consumption on the power supply being around 2.5a. When just powered on the adapter it is around 1.5a. I have left the laptop over night whilst plugged in and it has charged the battery to 100%, but it still does not show any signs of being detected within Windows.

It is charging but Windows does not recognize it as charging?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have 3.3V on all 4 pins of RPE3 and pin 3 and 4 of Bat connector JBATT1.

But no orange charging LED is showing or not recognized as charging in Windows or in Linux, even tho battery does take charge. :?

Please post oscillograms from pins 3 and 4 of JBATT1 connector while the charger and battery are both connected.

Hello thank you for helping, unfortunately i have very poor basic oscilloscope that not up to the job. But i do have 3.3v on both pin 3 and 4 with charger and battery connected.

I have made some progress, whilst measuring around PU100, when multi-meter probe touches pin 5 (ACOK) the adapter LED will light up and the "plugged in" symbol shows in the Windows system tray, so i believe there may be something with that line?

Resolder PU100 charger chip and remeasure the voltage to ground on pin 5 of that chip.

i have re soldered pu100 and it looks to be working ok now, i can plug and unplug adapter and it is detected and charging ok.

I should of spotted that initially, thank you for helping.
