HP ZBook Studio G3 (Mobo. APW5U LA-C401P Rev:2C) - 19V ON and OFF Every 2 seconds

  1. Naslov teme mora vsebovati: proizvajalca naprave, poln model in kratek opis okvare.

  4. Nalaganje celotnih navodil/shem, BIOS / firmware datotek, ali objavljanje povezav, ki vodijo do drugih spletnih strani s takšnimi datotekami, je SROGO PREPOVEDANO. Lahko objavite le majhen del navodil/shem, ali povezavo na BIOS datoteko v podforumu NEVERIFICIRANE DATOTEKE BIOS/EFI. V eni temi ne smete objaviti več kot eno stran navodil/shem. Datoteka ne sme vsebovati vidnih žigov "zaupno",, e-poštnih naslovov ipd.
  5. V eni temi lahko opišete SAMO eno napravo. Za vsako drugo okvarjeno napravo morate odpreti novo temo.
  6. Zahteve za sheme, boardview, fotografije matičnih plošč, datoteke BIOS-a ali servisne priročnike za storitve NISO DOVOLJENE. Če želite vprašati za katero koli od teh, odprite novo temo v podforumu ZAHTEVA ZA DOKUMENTACIJO & DATOTEKO BIOS/EFI.

Hello Everyone,
When I plug power in every 2-3 seconds 19V is ON and OFF.

I know that MOSFETS are being switched ON (25V sent to their GATES) by Charger IC BQ24780S.
Can Charger IC cut off power or more likely problem is with KBC as the reason of resets/restarts ?
I have sent my thermal camera for repair and I have a problem to identify possible faulty component. Resistance on all coils is correct. No shorted circuits.
Has anyone had the same or similar problem please ?

First of all, measure the resistance to ground on drain of 2nd MOSFET (PQ56). If it's high (in kΩ or MΩ), check if the laptop will work normally when you inject 19V on drain of PQ56. If so, check the battery whether it is connected and 100% working.

Thank you for your reply and help. Resistance is 2,5MΩ.
I have charged battery on external battery analyser device and now 19V stays on.
I did not know that this model will not power on without good battery.
3.3V and 5V are present too. However when I press power button both fans are spinning at full speed but CPU and GPU are not warming up. Caps lock and Num lock both flashing 5 times.
HP error code relates to motherboard problem. If I have measured correct on the coils all power voltages (RAM, PCH, CPU, GPU, VRAM) are present. Could the problem be corrupted BIOS please ?

Yes it can. Reflash the BIOS with a known working one - do not forget to dump the original BIOS, extract ME Region and move it over the new BIOS file before programming.

I have saved BIOS file and EC file from two chips in faulty laptop (two separate chips in this model). One of my friends has the same model of laptop which is working. He did allow me to use his laptop and extract required files. After extracting ME region from my own BIOS file I have replaced it in new BIOS saved from my friend's laptop. After programming with new BIOS file result has not changed. I thought this could be problem with EC chip so I have reprogrammed this one with my friends file too. Still the same results. Can the fault be within ME region. Should I try to clear ME region please ?
