Hello everyone, when charger is connected, 3v / 5v appears and quickly goes off. There are no shorts on the board. The battery charges. Lid Switch is ok. I have programmed both Bios and KBC. When I manually apply 3v to both EN1 and EN2 of PU301 (TPS51225), both 3v and 5v appear and remain steady, which suggests that PU301 is OK. I disconnected PJ303 and PJ302 but still 3v/5v appears and goes off when I connect the charger. 3v appears on power switch and pin14 of KB9022 and is suppressed when power button is pressed. Diagnosing is difficult with the lack of schematic. Any suggestions is welcome. Thank you in advance.

ec_rst# - 3.29v
plt_rst# - 0v
lid_sw# - 3.3v
ec_acin-3.3v

Hello!

Is 3,3V and 5V stable on pins 3, 13 of chip PU301?
Measure the voltage to ground on pin 7 of chip PU301, when 3V and 5V are present on coils and when they disappear.

Hello, when I insert the charger, 3.3v appears and disappears on pin 7 of PU301. When I manually apply 3v to EN1 and EN2, 3.3v appears on pin 7 and remain stable. Resistance to ground on pin 7 is 80 ohms. Voltage remains steady on pins 3 and 13 with charger inserted.

Did you measure this resistance with disconnected power supply and battery from the board?

Hello, I must have measured immediately after removing the charger. Now that the board has laid for a while, it reads a little over 34K ohms.

Ok, you measured the resistance while the capacitors on the board were still charged.

Which charger chip is on the board?

Charger chip is BQ24725A and these are some readings I took:
acdrv - 25v
acok - 3.25v
acdet - 2.6v
sda - 3.2v
scl - 3.2v
regn -6.06v
ilim - 0.44v

Measure the resistances to ground on all coils.
If there is no short circuit to ground on coils, try to replace the KBC chip.

Hello matic, I had to take time off to attend to other issues and to look for the KBC chip and I'm happy to inform that replacing and programming with a new chip solved the problem. Thanks for all the help. :D
