Hello!
I solder such chips according to the following procedure:
1) Tin all pads on the motherboard and on the chip itself with soldering iron + flux. Also put some solder (only a little) on the central thermal pad on the motherboard only (do not put the solder on the chip's central thermal pad).
2) Clean flux residues from the board and chip itself with IPA.
3) Apply fresh flux on the motherboard and align the chip with pads on the board.
5) Solder the chip with a hot air (when the solder melts, apply some pressure on the chip and release the pressure, when the solder is still melt).
6) Clean the flux residues with IPA.
