Hi

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2-11 that is not powering on. I check standby voltages and they are ok. When plugged to power supply it draws 0.01amp, then press power button it only draws 0.11amp and stays blank screen, no drop just hangs.

Here are readings from all coils, first is before power button press / second is after pressing power button. I beleive schematic is available on this site, in PL9 supposed to only have 1.8V?

PL4 = 3.3V / 3.3V
PL5 = 5.1V / 5.1V
PL6 = 0V / 1.3V
PL7 = 1V / 1V
PL8 = 0V / 1V
PL9 = 2.7V / 2.4V
PL10 = 0V / 0.820V
PL11 = 0V / 0.750V

Yes, on coil PL9 should be 1.8V

Measure the voltages to ground on pins 1, 4, 5, 6 of PU11.

here are measurements from PU11
------
1 = 3.3V / 3.3V
4 = 3.3V / 3.3V
5 = 0.57V / 1.3V (and droping slightly)
6 = 0.90V / 0.820V

ok, do you know any equivalent chips i can replace with? I can only find SY8032ABC in china.

@matic nice find, i must of missed that one when i looked on ebay.

@machine here are readings
PL9 Resistance to GND = 5.4K ohms

PR95 = 8.2K ohms
PR98 = 10K ohms

i think i have got the resistors the right way round, there are no markings on the board.

My mistake they were measured on board.

I have now removed them from board and they measure 9.9k ohms and 19.9k ohms, so i believe they are ok?

Ok, should the feedback value be same as the LX (pin 3) output? Is this same on all feedback FB pins, even from other boards? i am just trying to understand more.

I will order a new PU11 and report back, it may take few weeks to deliver.

Of course not. The LX pin is a "switch node", where is an AC voltage (pulses), while on the FB (feedback) pin is a DC voltage.
The chip PU11 measure the output voltage of that converter via voltage divider on feedback (FB) pin. When the voltage on FB pin reaches 0.6V, the output voltage is 1.8V. This way the chip "knows", what kind of pulses should sent to the LX pin to get the correct voltage on the output.

Ok i understand, thank you for explaining it for me.

That would explain why PU11 is defective, LX pin is outputing incorrect voltage, even tho the voltage divider is working ok.

Yes, exactly. In your case the voltage on feedback pin is 0.9V (it should be 0.6V according to the data sheet), but the chip does not limit the pulses on LX pin. That indicates the damaged chip PU11.

hello again, i got the new PU11 (SY8032ABC) from Spain and replaced it.

It has still not solved the issue here are readings after power button pressed

1 = 3.3V
4 = 3.3V
5 = moves between 0.65V - 0.75V
6 = 0.790V
----------
PL9 = 2.35V

yes, i checked again and pu11 is soldered ok.

In the picture, would PC112 be at the top of the 3 marked components?
Last time i measure the top and bottom components for voltage divider readings.

ok, i thought so. So the voltage divider was measured correctly.

Strange PU11 was sealed and "brand new".

Is it possible PC112 is defective? Because PR95 and PR98 are ok and PU11 is swaped with new chip.
