Hello

I have a HP 14-CK (GRANGER 6050A2977601 MB A02) laptop. There was a small amount of liquid damage in the area circled in yellow on the picture, this was causing a short on the 19v line. I changed this component and also the dual mosfet below it and this cleared the short and the board was able to power on again. But it will power on with no display and will just hang and consumes around 0.32mA on the powr supply.

I have all voltages on the coils (see picture). The coil to the right of the Hybrid CPU has 0v but i compared this to a working board and on a working board it also has 0v?

I have programmed a new BIOS file and still no change. Can anybody help diagnose further.

Hello!

Measure the power consumption (in mA) of the board in the following cases with disconnected main battery:
a) Machine turned off.
b) Machine turned on with RAM memory connected.
c) Machine turned on without RAM memory.

Hi matic

With the main battery disconnected i get the following power consumption readings

a) turned off = 0.01mA
b) turned on with RAM = around 0.35mA (when first trying it can rise as high as 0.44mA but then drops to 0.35, on subsequent attempts it will only go up to 0.27 - 0.31mA)
c) turned on without RAM = 0.35mA (then drops to 0.25mA)

It seems if the board is left for a while, on first attempt to power on it will rise to a higher value, but if you try to power on after this it will not reach that consumption again.

*note the CPU and heatsink is getting warm

You probably mean the units in amps [A] and not in milliamps [mA].

Try to reflash the KBC chip with programmer. Don't forget to save the old dump.

Yes your right, i was reading directly fom the powersupply.

I programmed the KBC with a new file from a working board and the issue still remains. After initially reaching about 350mA it will drop to around 270mA.

Unfortunately it is very likely damaged APU hybrid.
The APU probably needs to be replaced.

Ok i was kind of expecting that, it seems to happen a lot. It would be a lot better if they were still fitted with a socket.
