How to change write permissions for NTFS drive on mac os x lion 10.7

Hello, I bought a new macbook pro 15" it came with Mac OS X Lion preinstalled. Since i had a lot of data from old PC laptop so I have installed Microsoft Windows 7 via bootcamp. I can access windows partition (NTFS) from mac OS but cant change or save any file on to it, the sharing permission are Read Only and they seem to be not changeable.

Is there anyway I can overwrite these permission to Read and Write? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Enabling native NTFS Read/Write support in OSX is not recommended due to instability.
However there are projects which develop free NTFS drivers for OSX. One of them is OSXFUSE -> http://osxfuse.github.com/ This is a succesor of MacFUSE which has not been updated since 2009.

Hi, here is complete procedure, you will need three software.

1. Install OSXFuse https://github.com/downloads/osxfuse/osxfuse/OSXFUSE-2.3.9.dmg.
Make sure to select installing MacFuse Layer during installation for backwards compatibility.
2. Install NTFS-3G http://sourceforge.net/projects/catacombae/files/NTFS-3G%20for%20Mac%20OS%20X/2010.10.2/ntfs-3g-2010.10.2-macosx.dmg/download
3. Reboot.
4. Install Fuse_Wait package https://github.com/downloads/bfleischer/fuse_wait/fuse_wait.pkg
5. Reboot.



Once done, you should find MacFuse and NTFS-3G in system preferences. I have tested and working on mac os Lion 10.7, hope this helps.
