Dell N4110 can't switch on

  1. Naslov teme mora vsebovati: proizvajalca naprave, poln model in kratek opis okvare.

Lahko objavite le majhen del navodil/shem, ali povezavo na BIOS datoteko v podforumu NEVERIFICIRANE DATOTEKE BIOS/EFI. V eni temi ne smete objaviti več kot eno stran navodil/shem. Datoteka ne sme vsebovati vidnih žigov "zaupno",, e-poštnih naslovov ipd.
  5. V eni temi lahko opišete SAMO eno napravo. Za vsako drugo okvarjeno napravo morate odpreti novo temo.
  6. Zahteve za sheme, boardview, fotografije matičnih plošč, datoteke BIOS-a ali servisne priročnike za storitve NISO DOVOLJENE. Če želite vprašati za katero koli od teh, odprite novo temo v podforumu ZAHTEVA ZA DOKUMENTACIJO & DATOTEKO BIOS/EFI.

Laptop can't switch on. 3V 5V is ok. When press power key, RUN_ON is not coming. BIOS and EC flashing can't solve the problem. Need help.

PL10 - 5V
PL11 -3.3V
PL3 - 0.2V (Without Battery)
All other coils have 0V.

Resistance to ground on coils
PL10 - about 1K
PL11 - 170 Ohm
PL3 - about MOhm
PL8 - 330 Ohm
PL9 - 430 Ohm
PL4 - 5 Ohm
PL1 - 26 Ohm
PL2 - 14 Ohm

This resistance is definitely too low.
Remove the coil PL11 from the board and measure the resistances to ground on both pads on the place of this coil.

Sorry for my mistake. Resistance to ground on coil PL11 is 340 Ohm.

This resistance still seems a bit too low.
Perform the measurements suggested in post #4.

+3.3V_ALW side has 340Ohm and +3.3V_LX has 27 K.

Inject 3.3V from the laboratory power supply to the "+3.3V_ALW" power rail.
What electrical current flows from the laboratory power supply during the test?

0.007 amp for a few seconds and then stop.

Is the resistance to ground on this power rail still the same?
Also measure this resistance with the reversed polarity of test leads.

With the reversed polarity of test leads, the result have the same. 340 Ohm.

Unfortunately, there is no jumpers on this board to locate the source of low resistance.
Remove the KBC chip from the board and remeasure the resistance.

Remove the KBC chip from the board and the resistance is about 6k. Can i replace IT8518E from other laptop motherboard?

Yes, you can, but make sure the extension markings (such as -CXS or similar) matches the original.

Original is 1145-CXS. Can i replace with 1203-CXA?

I think such a replacement should work, but it's impossible to know without a test.

Remeasure the resistances to ground on coils PL10, PL11 and on pin 7 of chip PU7.

PL11 - about 6K
