Asus GL553VD Laptop charging problem

Board id: GL553VD Rev 2.0

Laptop is charging for a few seconds and then stop. When unplug adapter and reconnect, it charging again for a few seconds and then stop again. Q8800, Q8801, Q8802, Q8803, Q8804 all are good. R8800 and R8809 are good. Charging IC is also good. BIOS flashing can't solve the problem. Need help.

Zmierz rezystancję do masy na L8800.

Zmierz rezystancję pomiędzy n.1-2 i n.12-13 U8800.

Zmierz napięcia na n.5, 8, 9, 16 i 17 U8800 z podłączoną baterią i zasilaczem.

Sprawdź czy R8812 ma 22Ω.

...as this is replacement (not genuine) battery - which in general are low quality(both cells and electronics), I would say that even it is showing Designed = Fully charged Capacity (wear 0% after 22 cycles), real capacity is different/lower and thats the reason charging stops (here plays its part firmware/electronics inside battery) or simply battery is faulty(typically one cell gets off the limits - charges/discharges faster than the rest). You can try to fully discharge the battery and try to charge from 0%, this sometimes helps...but only secure way to get real results is to do test/calibration on dedicated battery analyzer like NLBA etc. If you dont have such equipment, do your charging tests/diagnostics using GENUINE (....and tested/working) battery - else you are hunting ghosts.

Resistance to ground on the L8800 is about 3M.

U8800,
Resistance between n.1-2 is about 0.5 Ohm
Resistance between n.12-13 is about 0.6 Ohm
Pin 5 - 3.18V
Pin 8, 9 - 3.1V
Pin 16 - 6V
Pin 17 - 15.23V

Zmierz napięcia na wszystkich pinach D8801 i n.20 U8800.

R8812 has 22Ω.
D8801 pin 1 has 19.6V, pin 2 has 15.6V and pin 3 has 19.3V.
U8800 pin 20 has 19.26V

Zmierz rezystancję pomiędzy:
n.17-19 U8800,
n.1-4 PQ8803.

Resistance between n.17-19 U8800 is 2M.
Resistance between n.1-4 PQ8803 is 190K.

Podstaw inną, 100% sprawną baterię bo ta może być uszkodzona jak napisał wof.

I substitute another battery, but problem still exits. Laptop can't open with battery only. Not charging. With battery and adapter, laptop is open but show no battery detect. Unplug the adapter while running with adapter and battery, laptop still running fine with battery.

Start a BatteryMon and post a screens of "battery info" in the following cases:
a) Battery + power supply connected, battery is charging.
b) Battery + power supply connected, battery stops charging.
c) Laptop is running on the battery only after unplugging the power supply.

Charges when it is turned off?

This laptop is known to have problems with charging not geniue batteries. I had one some time ago, and it worked and charged only original battery and any replacement part was not being charged. It could turn on, but the charging would not start. Tried: GreenCell, Mitsu & Polion. Ordered original battery from Asus and it started right up, and charged the battery properly.

Other thing is, check closely the battery connector onboard. It is often damaged by pulling it to hard and the connection between some pins can be missing. Some of the cirucuits lays underneath the battery connector.
