Acer Predator HELIOS 300 PH315-51 (DH5VF LA-F952P) - Stuck on UEFI splash screen

Hello all

I have the following laptop Acer Predator HELIOS 300 PH315-51 (DH5VF LA-F952P). The issue is it is stuck/froze on the UEFI splash screen, there is no sign of any hard disks loading and can not enter BIOS setup at all. Keyboard lights up and Processor is getting warm.

It seems to be a somewhat common problem online, but all cases end with user sending laptop back to Acer.

So far i have programmed a new KBC file and BIOS file from internet. This was for "Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 AN515 DH5VF LA-F952P" very similar board. But no change, only change was the UEFI splash logo changed from "Predator" to "Acer" but laptop is still stuck.

I have extracted the FD file from the Acer website, but do not know how to make BIN file to be programmed.

Does anybody have an idea where i can try next? It doesnt seem like a hardware issue, voltages look right and the laptop is powering on up until that point.

First you have to choose correct revision - 1A or 10. To extract BIN from FD file, open FD file in HxD and remove two data blocks: first from 0 to 97310 (hex), and after removing first block second one begins at 1000000 (hex) and goes to the end of file - that block you have to remove too, and as a result you should get a 16 MB BIOS file ready to write to BIOS chip.
If you still don't know how to do this, create a topic in BIOS Requests subforum, and then someone will upload a working file.

Thanks for the great information on making the BIn file from the FD file, this will be helpful in the future too.

Do you have the offsets and blocks for 8mb FD files?

I made 16,384KB bin file using the Rev 10 FD file, following your instructions and programmed that, but now the laptop will not power on, i get blue power light for 2sec then nothing, no keyboard backlight, fan spin etc.

Yes without SSD or hard disk the laptop is still stuck.

UPDATE

I looked at the BIOS files in HxD and noticed it was shifted by one byte, so i insert one byte at start and delte one from the end and the laptop now powers on again, but it is still doing the same thing. Sometimes it freezes/stuck at the UEFI spalsh logo, and other times it on blank screen with LCD backlight on.
